Design
Synology FS1018 is a black coloured rectangular-shaped device with 12 drive trays on its front panel aligned vertically in the pair of six.
The status, alert and LAN indicators with a power button are present above these drive trays.
The drive status indicators and drive tray locks are present on each drive tray.
Whereas, two USB ports are placed at the lower-left corner of its front panel. Its posterior panel is equipped with two cooling fans that occupy much of the space.
Its rear panel’s right side features a power port and Kensington security slot whereas its left side is equipped with PCIe expansion slot.
LAN ports, expansion ports, a USB port and a reset button are present below the system fans.
